What is the ECO Scheme?

Low-income households can benefit from a wide range of home improvements – fully funded by the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Scheme.

Designed to improve the energy efficiency of homes and reduce carbon emissions, the UK Government scheme means larger energy suppliers are obliged to pay for energy-saving measures. To qualify for ECO improvements, your combined household income must be less than £31,000 a year.

Homeowners or tenants are also eligible if one person living in the property claims any of the following:

  • Income related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • Warm Home Discount Scheme Rebate
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Pension Credit Saving Credit
